The job
What you'd actually be doing
This is the first Charlotte hire who isn't on a truck, and it's the one that decides whether the rest of it works. You'd take a market with no crew, no routine and no history in the city, and turn it into a week that runs itself.
Before the opening the job is hiring, training and setting up. After it, the job is dispatch, quality and the customers unhappy enough to ask for a manager.
- Build the weekly schedule and match crews to jobs
- Hire and train the crew, and hold them to how the work gets done
- Walk estimates and price jobs nobody has seen yet
- Keep the trucks legal, maintained and stocked
- Take the escalation calls, including the Saturday ones
- Report the week back to the owner: jobs run, hours, damage, what got booked

What we need
Who this works for
- You've run an operation with vehicles and hourly crews. Moving is ideal; delivery, install or field service counts
- Comfortable hiring, and comfortable letting somebody go when it isn't working
- Can hold a day together when two jobs run long and a third is waiting
- Straight with a customer when the news is bad
- Valid license and a clean record
- Living in the Charlotte metro, or moving there before the fall
Helps, doesn't decide it
Nice to have
- Worked in a moving CRM before, SmartMoving especially, since that's what we run
- DOT and FMCSA paperwork experience
- Estimating experience on residential jobs

Yes, and that's the point of the role. The manager comes on before the trucks so the crew, the schedule and the paperwork are ready on day one. Putting all of that together around live jobs is how a launch goes wrong.
It's the easiest way in, but it isn't the only one. If you've run crews and vehicles somewhere else and you're willing to learn how a move is priced and loaded, say so when you call.
The owner, directly. Charlotte is a second market for a small company, not a branch of a chain, so there's nobody in between.
